Tim Murphy Agrees to a Single Debate
Won’t Confirm a Date, Time or Location
Pittsburgh, PA — Incumbent Representative Tim Murphy has agreed to debate primary challenger Evan Feinberg in “early April.” Murphy’s camp has not yet committed to a specific date, time or location.
Feinberg has repeatedly offered to engage Rep. Murphy in any forum: “I’m pleased Murphy’s camp has committed to a debate and am looking forward to getting it on the calendar. I’ll debate Tim Murphy anytime, anywhere.”
Republican Party officials have scheduled additional forums for Feinberg and Murphy to share their contrasting views, but Murphy’s Campaign Manager has cited “scheduling conflicts.”
Evan responded: “I hope Tim Murphy won’t hide from his constituents. We have both been invited to a forum this Wednesday in Greensburg — I will be attending. If Murphy plans on skipping this and other important forums, I challenge him to make public whatever it is that is more important than facing the voters of the 18th District of Pennsylvania.”
The Westmoreland County Republican Party (District 12) is sponsoring a forum for the Congressional Candidates in the 18th District of Pennsylvania. Both candidates were invited in early February and the date was chosen to accommodate the Congressman’s recess schedule from his work in Washington. Mr. Murphy has not yet agreed to participate, citing a “scheduling conflict.”
